Request a Grant Writer

Award of $20,000 to a USA investigator to recognize excellent research in the field of health care. The purpose of this program is to honor outstanding research articles that were published in 2019. Entries will be judged based on creativity, impact, and relevance to the award subject areas. All research articles must address some aspect of health care financing, delivery, organization or policy implementation. Articles must have been published in a peer-reviewed journal during calendar year 2019 either in print or online.

Selection Criteria:

  • Originality and creativity of the research
  • Impact that the research may have in advancing the public policy debate or improving health care delivery and management
  • Relevance to one or more of the subject areas (health care financing, delivery and organization and/or the implementation of health care policy)

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible applicants are USA researchers. There is a limit of two entries per entrant.
- Articles must have been published in a peer-reviewed journal during calendar year 2019 either in print or online. (An article cannot be submitted in more than one competition year.)
- All research articles must address some aspect of health care financing, delivery, organization or policy implementation.

If there are multiple authors, you must choose a single entrant who is typically the lead author but may also be a co-author. The entrant must be authorized to enter the work on behalf of all authors.

Pre-Application Information:

Application deadline: February 3, 2020, by midnight.

The judges select finalists by mid March, and all entrants will be notified of the finalist decision shortly thereafter. The winning paper will be selected by the judges in April and announced publicly at the awards dinner on May 13, 2020.
