Awards to Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware nonprofit organizations, businesses, and individuals in eligible regions to recognize outstanding business leadership. This program highlights the essential role that small and mid-size businesses play in the region’s overall economic development. The nominated individual or organization must be headquartered in the Chamber’s 11-county Greater Philadelphia region. This includes Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania; Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Mercer, and Salem counties in New Jersey; and New Castle county in Delaware.

Award winners set themselves apart from the competition and are outstanding representatives of the diversity of the region’s business community.

Each year, businesses are recognized for their creativity, vitality, stability and relevance. Winners are nominated by their regional business peers based on their demonstrated commitment to the advancement of the business community. Equally important in selecting winners are civic involvement and responsiveness, corporate responsibility, employee recognition and concerns regarding service issues.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

All nominees must meet the following criteria:
- The nominated individual or organization is headquartered in the Chamber’s 11-county Greater Philadelphia region (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties in PA; Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Mercer, and Salem counties in NJ; and New Castle county in Delaware).
- The nominated individual or organization has not won an Excellence Award in the last five (5) years.
- The nominated individual or organization has been operating for a minimum of 3 years.
- The nominated individual or organization is individually owned & operated.
- The nominated individual or organization consents to a background check to verify any of the information contained in this application.
- To the best of the applicant’s knowledge, the nominated individual or organization is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations of federal, state, and local governments relating to the operation of its business and the maintenance and operation of its properties and assets.

- For the Small Business Person of the Year Award, the nominated individual must have between 1 – 100 employees and must be the Founder, Owner, CEO, or President of the company.
- For the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the nominated individual must be the Founder, Owner, CEO, or President of the company(ies). They must be 40 years of age or younger at time of nomination submission.
- For the Customer Service Excellence Award and the Professional Services Excellence Award, the nominated organization must have between 1-1000 employees.
- For the Family-Owned Business Excellence Award, the nominated organization be a second-generation (or older) family-owned company where executive leadership has been passed from one generation to another.
- For the Manufacturing Excellence Award, the nominated organization must have a SIC code that begins with 2 or 3 or NAIC code with first two digits between 31-33. The organization must have between 1-1000 employees.
- For a Nonprofit Excellence Award, the nominated organization must be a 501(c) and have between 1-100 employees. The organization must spend at least 80% of budget on program expenses.
- For a Strategic Growth Excellence Award, the nominated organization must have annual revenue that falls in the middle market ($10 million – $1 billion). The organization must have between 1-1000 employees.
- For a Technological Excellence Award, the nominated organization must have between 1-100 employees.

The deadline to nominate a small to mid-size business or business leader is March 31, 2020.

The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia will recognize the accomplishments and impact of the selected honorees at the annual awards ceremony in November 2020.
