Awards ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 to USA dental schools and colleges to recognize exceptional student volunteer projects that serve vulnerable communities and underserved populations. The project must be organized and conducted by a group of dental students who are enrolled in an accredited predoctoral dental education program. Award funds must be expressly used to continue to enhance student service learning and outreach to underserved populations.
The mission of the ADA Foundation is to improve human well-being through
improved oral health, and the ADAF commends all dental student volunteer efforts.
Note: Service learning projects that provide academic credit may be submitted. Please note that this award is meant to recognize altruistic student efforts in programs that have been in existence for at least one year. Thus, applications that describe service learning for academic credit should also describe student enhancements to that service learning that go beyond basic academic requirements and which are student directed and volunteer based.
