Grants of up to $25,000 to USA nonprofit organizations in Northeastern States to support innovative initiatives in medical research, education, and the arts. Eligible States include Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington, DC.

The Foundation aims to support projects that are designed to achieve a specific, tangible and lasting result within a reasonable period of time, with a special emphasis on innovative and groundbreaking initiatives.

Number of Grants:

In each semi-annual grant cycle, the Foundation receives over 100 applications and awards 10-20 grants.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The maximum amount of each grant is $25,000.

Term of Contract:

All grants are one-time awards.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Foundation fulfills its charitable purposes by making grants to other charitable organizations.

Eligible grant applicants must be located in the Northeast region of the United States and must be classified as public charities under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The Foundation does not make grants to organizations classified as private foundations, organizations located outside the Northeast region of the United States, or individuals.

Pre-Application Information:

Preliminary applications are considered once a year and must be submitted by December 31 for consideration. Decisions on applications submitted by December 31 will be announced in May.

Applicants who can demonstrate that a grant from the Foundation will be matched by additional funding from another source may be given priority.
